Quality Education
The mission of Northumberland Christian School is "to provide education from a Christian perspective with the goals of encouraging students in their relationship with Jesus Christ, and of preparing them to understand, discern and participate in the world according to God's unchanging values."
It is the Christian emphasis that allows our school to offer quality education with a difference. Our curriculum is taught from a perspective based on a Biblical foundation and delivered in a manner that is Christ-centred, teacher directed and child oriented. We strive to maintain high academic standards which meet or exceed Ministry of Education Guidelines. A low student-teacher ratio allows for a more personalized approach to learning.
Northumberland Christian School is staffed by professional, fully qualified teachers. Each teacher has an Ontario Teacher's Certificate and/or a Christian School Teacher's Certificate. They work with their students (and alongside parents) to support and encourage academic, social and spiritual growth in each child.
There is an atmosphere of community and teamwork at Northumberland Christian School. Parents, teachers and students work together so students can reach their potential in academics, extra-curricular activities and service opportunities and may know they have an important place in God's world and work. Parents have the opportunity to be full partners in this process.
Northumberland Christian School is an interdenominational school. It was established by the Northumberland Christian School Society in 1978. It is owned and operated by a large group of Christian parents and supporters. An elected Board of Directors is the governing body of the Society.
