THE SANTA CLAUSE PARADE

On Nov. 18 the school had a float in the Cobourg Santa Claus Parade. The float had the words 'An angel appeared' on the sides and students from JK to Grade 8 participated. Breanna DeJong in grade 3, was dressed as the angel Gabriel and sat at the front of the float, while other students dressed as shepherds walked along to follow the star.

NCS SCIENCE FAIR

On March 6, after months of preparations, students at NCS proudly displayed their Science Fair projects and the results were impressive. Forty-one projects stood in the gym to be viewed by teachers, family and friends and to be judged by two of NCS’s occasional teachers. This year projects included a variety of topics from the effects of sleep deprivation to digital cameras, from vermicompost to animal fur and included a variety of molds, recipes and paper airplanes.

NCS holds its Science Fair every two years, with the goal of encouraging a better awareness of the orderly design and greatness of God’s creation. Each child is asked to explain what they have learned about God through their studies. Responses are always insightful and often parents, teachers and judges learn as much as the student.

MISSION OUTREACH PROJECT

The Grade 3 and 4 class wrote letters to our Canadian Forces Members who will be away from their families during the holidays. The letters the students wrote were sent to our Canadian Forces Members working in Afghanistan. The students shared thoughts of pride, and thankfulness. They wrote about things that might help them remember our home Canada. The students wrote such touching and meaningful letters. The love of God that these students show in their words and their actions is always touching.
